SBMSA 2012 Pony (ages 13-14) and Colt (ages 15-18) Announcement:

Registration for Pony and Colt Baseball:

Pony Registration

Pony regular registration opens on Jan. 1 and it closes on Jan. 21. Late registrations will continue until Jan. 28, space permitting.

Registration fee is $220 per player.

Colt Registration

Colt regular registration opens on Jan. 1 and it closes on Jan. 21. Late registrations will continue until Feb. 1, space permitting.

Refunds will be provided through the first game for registrants who make their high school teams.

Age Cutoffs:

Pony Age Cutoffs:

Please note that 8th graders, regardless of their age, can play Pony baseball.

Pony age group is 13 - 14 for players with birthdates between 5/1/97 - 4/30/99.

Colt Age Cutoffs:

Please note that high school students, regardless of their age, can play Colt baseball.

Colt age group is for 15 - 18 for players with birthdates between 5/1/93 - 4/30/97

Tryouts:

Pony tryouts will be Jan. 28.

Colt tryouts will be during Jan. 30 - 31 and February 1st.

More details will to come regarding specific times for tryouts.

Games:

Pony games start in early March and will finish by the end of May.

Colt games start in mid-February and will finish in early May.

Fund Raising

During the registration process, you will be asked if you would like to donate funds to the Sr. Baseball program this year. There are numerous capital projects that are in the works and being contemplated that we need your help to make a reality. Please help by contributing to the Sr. Baseball program. All donations are tax deductible. With your help, we can continue to offer our area youth the best possible atmosphere to play baseball.

Requirements

As of January 1, 2002, a Birth Certificate, or Passport will be required, as proof of age, for all players participating in any SBMSA activity. Proof of Age is not required to register but will be necessary prior to skill’s assessment and/or team formation. There are multiple ways that you can provide this proof to the Association:

  • Mail copy of your proof of age to Ryan Flores, 1506 Glourie Dr, Houston, Texas 77055.
  • Fax a copy of your proof of age with cover sheet to 713-739-6699.
  • Bring a copy to one of the in-person registrations (Check web site for Dates and Location)
  • If your age group is subject to a skills evaluation, you may bring proof of age to this evaluation.

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance is available on a case-by-case basis and is subject to available funds for such use. Please contact the Program Director of your sport with requests. Click here to read the Parental Financial Assistance Contract.
