About Softball
The Sports Association provides a softball program for girls ages 6 through 15. Six, seven and eight year olds play on "coach-pitch" Ponytail League teams. The 10 & U League is made up of nine and ten year old girls (kid pitch). The 12 & U League is made up of eleven and twelve year old girls. Older girls are assigned to 14 and under teams. In the younger age groups the players are placed on teams by elementary school attendance areas insofar as is possible.
In addition to regular season games, teams participate in play-off games at the end of the season as well as year-end tournaments. Additionally, a number of Sports Association tournament teams are formed and they participate in invitational, regional and Amateur Softball Association national tournaments.
Five lighted softball game fields erected and maintained by the Sports Association are centrally located on the campus of the Spring Branch Elementary School, 1700 Campbell Road, where all regularly scheduled games, as well as a number of tournaments are played each year.
Information flyers regarding registration will be handed out to all elementary school students when they come back to school from the Christmas holidays. At the same time this web site will be available for registration on-line.
