Coaches Alton, Cindy, Paul and Chris would like to thank SBMSA for a great summer of softball.

The girls played over 20 games in 5 weeks and improved greatly. Sarah Schneider has become a stellar catcher, Kayla & D pitching duo have kept some of the best teams off balance, Megan Gillespie has made spectacular catches in L & R field along w/ some key RBI's, Rose Arechiga is playing some of the best 3rd base we have seen, Kennedy Cowart has become a dual threat at second base and catcher, Isabel Dunn has proven to be a contender at short stop, Lexie Henkel & Rachael Watts have both won biggest smash balls for their hitting power, Rachael Kaminski has proven to be a clutch RBI hitter. Audrey Hur's speed has allowed her to steal more than 15 bases. A special thanks to hitting coach Ray not shown in picture.

8U Houston Heat Red take 3rd in Sugarland

The 8U Houston Heat Red would take 3rd in Sugarland to end their Summer tournament season. Congratulations to the girls, coaches and parents.

10u Houston Heat Red take 3rd at Metro

The 10u Houston Heat Red finished 3rd at Houston Metro held at La Porte. The Heat used a fast start, excellent pitching and timely hitting to carry them to 3rd amongst a strong field. The finish qualifies the Heat to participate at Southern Nationals in Gadsden Alabama in Mid July.

12U Houston Heat Take 2nd at Metro

The 12U Houston Heat Red would take second at Houston Metro, losing only the Pasadena Her-ricanes. The Heat would move into the championship game, only giving up 2 runs in the first five games of the tournament. This is the second year in a row that the 12U team has finished second at Metro. The second place finish qualifies the Heat to participate at Southern Nationals in Oklahoma City in early August.

12U Heat Stay Hot in Tomball

The 12U Houston Heat Red would stay hot in Tomball with another 1st place win in the Texas Peppers' Summer Classic. The Heat would avenge a tough 4-3 loss to Kingwood with a 3-1 victory in the tournament championship game. Heat pitcher Celie Olguin would be named tournament MVP.

12U Heat Take Second in Sugarland

The SBMSA 12U Houston Heat took second in the "Out of School Classic" in Sugarland, June 5th and 6th. The Heat would win 5 straight on Sunday including 2 shutouts, only to lose to the Sugarland Express Blue, 5 - 3. It was truly a team effort with great pitching and defense, with the Heat bats coming alive when it counted.

10u Houston Heat Red Win Spring-Klein All Star Tournament

10u Houston Heat Red stayed "Hot" winning their 2nd tournament in as many tries. The Heat continued their unbeaten streak as Blaire Evans again had dominating pitching performances. Blake Lanford also provided clutch pitching performances to provide a strong 1 - 2 combo. Georgia Clark, Emily Ellis and Izzy Nelson combined for an on base percentage of .750 to help provide the scoring punch. It was an excellent team performance and we're very proud of the girls! Way to go girls!!

12U Houston Heat Take Cy-Fair Starz Tournament

The 12U Houston Heat took first place in the the Cy-Fair Starz Tournament, May 22nd and 23rd. The Heat would run rule all but one opponent, out scoring the competition 75 to 6 in 7 games. The Heat would have outstanding pitching from Jennifer Brann, Celie Olguin and Harley Jo Rowland. Harley Jo also was perfect at the plate. As a team, the Heat had a batting average of almost .600 and an on base percentage of .715. It was a great team effort in the field and at the plate.

10U Heat Red Win Woodlands Tournament

10U Houston Heat Red starts off "Hot" winning the Woodlands tournament the weekend of May 21-23. The Heat went undefeated and in bracket play gave up no runs. Blaire Evans dominated pitching 4 no hitters and striking out 30 of the 43 players she faced. There were several good batting performances by the girls, but none could top Emma Hall who led the bats with a 6 for 8 performance with 2 inside the park home runs.
